Business systems
Most of what we build is a system that runs a process: cases to be registered and progressed, licences to be applied for and granted, volunteers or members to be kept on a register, appointments to be scheduled. The process already exists in your organisation. We build the software to fit it, rather than asking you to fit a product.
These systems are used every day by staff who know their work well, so they have to be quick, consistent and dependable, and they have to leave a record of who did what and when.
What we build
- Case management: register, assign and progress cases through defined stages, with work queues, notifications and a full history on every case.
- Licensing and authorisation: applications, assessments, approvals and renewals, with the documents and correspondence kept with the application.
- Registers and membership: a single accurate record of volunteers, members, establishments or products, with controlled access and audit trails.
- Scheduling and appointments: calendars, capacity, bookings and attendance, with letters and emails generated from the system.
- Workflow and reporting: the rules your process follows, built in, and the reports and metrics management needs to run it.
How we approach it
We start with analysis. Our analysts work with the people who do the job to understand the process, its exceptions and its reporting needs, and write a functional specification that becomes the blueprint for the build. Development, testing, user acceptance, training and go-live follow a plan agreed with you, and we support and extend the system afterwards.
Systems are usually delivered in phases, so the parts that matter most go live first and later modules build on a working base.
Technologies
